At UMBRAL we respect your right to request the deletion of your personal data. This page explains how to do it.
Your right to delete your data
Under applicable privacy laws, you have the right to request the deletion of the personal data we hold about you. This is also known as the “right to be forgotten”.
What data can be deleted
You can request the deletion of:
- Personal contact information (name, email, phone)
- Donation records (subject to certain legal limitations)
- Communication records (WhatsApp messages or emails)
- Any other personal data we have collected
Important – legal limitations:
In some cases we may not be able to delete your data completely because of legal obligations, including:
- Tax requirements (we must keep donation records for tax purposes)
- Ongoing legal investigations
- The need to keep records to fulfil contracts
- Protecting the legal rights of UMBRAL or third parties
How to request data deletion
To request the deletion of your personal data, follow these steps:
- Send an email to: [email protected]
- Use the subject line: “Personal Data Deletion Request”
- In the body of the message, include:
- Your full name
- The email address you registered with
- Your phone number, if registered
- A specific description of the data you want deleted
- The reason for your request (optional)
- Wait for our confirmation: we will reply within 30 days with:
- Confirmation that we have received your request
- Information about which data will be deleted
- Information about any data that cannot be deleted, and why
- An estimated deletion date
Deletion process
Once your request has been approved:
- Data in active systems: will be deleted within 7 business days
- Backups: data in backups will be deleted in the next rotation cycle (90 days at most)
- Audit records: will be kept in anonymized form as legally required

Identity verification
To protect your data, we need to verify your identity before processing your request. This may include:
- Confirmation via your registered email address
- Confirmation via WhatsApp, if you have a registered number
- Verification questions about your account information
Response time
We commit to:
- Responding to your request within 30 days of receipt
- Letting you know if we need an extension (60 additional days at most)
- Providing clear information about the status of your request
Your right to appeal
If you are not satisfied with our response to your request, you have the right to:
- Appeal our decision by writing to: [email protected]
- File a complaint with the data protection authority in your jurisdiction
- Seek independent legal advice
